MOBI-MIX and POLIS, solid links illustrated at the 2020 annual POLIS conference.

POLIS, the leading network of European cities and regions that works together to develop innovative technologies and policies for local transport, is an active member of the Interreg 2 seas MOBI-MIX project. In a larger framework than the MOBI-MIX project, the 2020 POLIS annual Conference was recently held virtually from 30 November to 3 December.

The event included 4 meetings, 5 plenary sessions, and 8 parallel sessions. It presented in detail a great number of mobility and transportation issues that have been considered by various stakeholders, cities, researchers, and private partners. All of the lectures presented at POLIS are available here.

A great number of mobility topics were covered including:

  • New traffic management tools and cooperation models

  • Healthy urban and transport planning

  • Zero-emission transport: Don’t be afraid to start with freight!

  • Innovations in traffic management

  • How can public authorities steer freight and service consolidation?

  • Changing travel behaviour

  • Governing MaaS

  • Sustainable mobility in times of COVID-19

The Next annual POLIS conference will take place in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 1-2 December 2021. We look forward to hearing about the outcomes and discussions.
